Ledwood faced several challenges with their IT infrastructure. Many of their servers and systems were nearing end-of-life, necessitating upgrades or replacements. The Solution
Upgrading Infrastructure
PC1 tackled Ledwood’s ageing systems by installing two new domain controllers, backed by a five-year onsite fast-response agreement. All legacy data was securely migrated, and a robust disaster recovery solution was implemented. This ensures uninterrupted domain services with failover capabilities, enabling files to be restored or virtual servers to be spun up either on-premise or via the cloud. Even in a critical incident, Ledwood can resume operations quickly and efficiently.
Enhanced Monitoring and Support
To improve system oversight, PC1 introduced advanced monitoring tools, providing real-time alerts and insights into the performance of over 200 workstations and servers. An integrated dashboard allowed the IT team to address issues proactively, while automated patch management ensured all systems remained up to date. A new ticketing system streamlined support, allowing in-house staff to manage requests while escalating complex issues to PC1 when needed.
Strengthening Cybersecurity
Recognising the growing threat of cyberattacks, PC1 fortified Ledwood’s defences. All devices were secured with advanced antivirus software and an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution. A fully managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) was integrated to provide 24/7 monitoring of networks, logins, and firewalls, with the capability to isolate compromised devices instantly. PC1 also enhanced email security and delivered targeted phishing simulations and training to raise employee awareness and minimise risks.
Data Protection and Compliance
PC1 ensured Ledwood’s data integrity with a full Microsoft 365 backup solution for SharePoint and OneDrive. Regular penetration testing was introduced to identify vulnerabilities, and Cyber Essentials certification was achieved, reinforcing Ledwood’s commitment to cybersecurity. For remote operations, reliable Wi-Fi solutions were provided, ensuring stable connectivity across all locations.
